PSVR 2 controllers and eye tracking

The PSVR 2 controllers will also see a significant design upgrade. Sony’s next-generation peripheral VR is called the PlayStation VR2 Sense Controller. These new controllers leave behind the classic PS Move controller design of the original PSVR. Instead, they favour the specialized approach of modern VR controllers, such as the Touch Controller of the Oculus Quest 2. The PSVR 2 controllers have stick-like grips with plastic balls around them. They also have the same adaptive triggering features as the Dual Sense Wireless Controller. This allows you to apply different amounts of force to each action in the game. They will also have haptic feedback and finger touch detection, so the game will know where your fingers are resting without you having to press buttons.

PSVR 2’s new sensory features combine eye-tracking, headset feedback, 3D audio, and the PSVR 2 Sense controller to create a deeper sense of immersion. A single built-in motor in the headset adds an additional tactile element that can replicate the player’s pulse during tense moments or the rush of objects passing by the player’s head.

Eye tracking is a particularly pleasing addition for VR enthusiasts, allowing PSVR 2 to track the movement of your eyes. Simply look in a specific direction and the headset generates additional input for your game character. The result is a more intuitive and natural experience. PSVR 2 is also not wireless, but only requires a cable between the headset and the console to be used.
